When you travel, you worry about missing your workouts and eating poorly...So you must plan ahead for both (apples and almonds for planes, trains, & automobiles)...and bodyweight circuits for "no-equipment fat burning".
And while I have bodyweight exercises that are just as hard as the bench press and barbell squat in one of my bodyweight workouts, today we'll focus on replacing intervals with bodyweight circuits.
To do a bodyweight circuit...
a) Pick 3 lower body exercises
b) Pick 3 upper body exercises
c) Alternate between a lower and upper body exercise without rest, till you are done all 6 exercises
d) Rest a minute.
e) Repeat 2-3 more times until you are done 20 minutes
For example, this is a great circuit that doesn't need any equipment
1) Prisoner Squat (12 repetitions)
2) Elevated Pushups (8 reps per side)
3) Single-Leg Deadlift (10 reps per side)
4) Close-grip Pushups (As many reps as possible)
5) Jumping Jacks (30-60 reps)
6) Cross-Body Mountain Climber (12 reps per side)
Whew. That's pretty advanced...for a beginner, we'd slow it down like this and take some breaks between exercises...
1) Wall Squat (8 reps)
2) Kneeling Elevated Pushup (5 reps per side)
3) Lying 1-leg Hip Extension (8 reps per side)
4) Plank (30 second hold)
5) Jumping Jacks (5-10 reps)
6) Side Plank (15 second hold per side)
Safe travels, and of course, always check with your doctor before beginning a fat burning bodyweight circuit exercise program.

Fat Burning Exercise Tips for Busy Parents & Professionals

Turbulence Training for Fat Loss

The great thing about strength training and intervals for fat burning is "efficiency". Because you are working harder, the signal to your body to change is stronger. You cut time when you increase intensity and you burn fat faster.
Now don't worry, I won't be asking you to do hill sprints tomorrow if you aren't exercising today. For a beginner, we just do some slightly faster than normal walking intervals. For intermediate fitness levels, we'll pick up the pace about 20% compared to their normal cardio levels, but again, the work periods are much shorter.
The key is, you must shift to a slightly higher intensity in order to cut time from your workout. But the workout also goes faster, and much more importantly, you will get more results and better fitness from these methods.
It's easy to do these workouts first thing in the AM, at lunch, or after the kids go to bed. Plus, you can get a great workout at home with only a bench, dumbells, and an exercise ball. You don't need fancy machines or an expensive gym membership.
And another bonus, you only need three hard fat burning workouts per week. You don't have to be in the gym six days per week.
On your off days, it's important to stay active for at least 30 minutes, but these days should be unstructured and revolve around being active with your family or hobbies. Don't think of them as workout days, think of them as fat burning, stress reducing activity days.

I couldn't be any simpler with my nutrition recommendations for fat burning. You will get have the most energy and the best body and fitness level possible if you eat whole, natural foods. I always ask Dr. Chris Mohr, author of the Turbulence Training for Fat Loss Nutrition Guidelines if I ever need help with nutrition information.
You must avoid processed foods, which is pretty much anything in a bag or a box. So cut out muffins, donuts, pre-packaged cereals, white bread, pasta, chips, crackers, cookies, etc.
We need to return to a time of simpler eating, focusing on fruits, vegetables, nuts, lean proteins, and healthy fats. It will take some "bad habit breaking" to rid yourself of your addiction to processed foods, but in your journey you will learn to appreciate the taste of REAL food again.
You don't have to eat meat to lose fat and build muscle, but it's not unhealthy to eat beef, chicken, and fish. In fact, fish contains essential fatty acids we can't do without.
You might have heard about the importance of healthy fats, which is a big turn-around from the low-fat mentality of the 80's and 90's. We now know eating fish and nuts won't make us fat, but will in fact make us healthy and help control our appetite.
So just focus on foods that haven't been processed, and you'll start to see changes in your body and energy levels in a matter of days. Get rid of the processed foods and you won't be tired anymore!
I strongly believe nutrition is the MOST important factor in fat loss and in health. If you're eating processed foods, trans-fats, and too many calories, you won't get maximum benefits from your exercise program, no matter what you are doing. Nutrition can either heal you or kill you, so choose wisely. Fortunately, the right choices are the simple choices.
I've had clients that switched to whole, natural foods and almost overnight they've reported changes in their bodies and huge increases in mental energy. So stick with the simple nutrition approach for fat burning.

I once had a training partner that would put more weight on the bar than I expected. For example, if I planned to do 200 lbs for 8 reps, he would sneak on 210.
And the thing is, I often ended up doing it just as easily as I
expected to do 200.
The point to his dirty trick?
He knew I was stronger than I let my mind believe.
(Note: Don't try this at home. He was also spotting me during each repetition.)
But how can you benefit from this dirty trick?
2 ways.
1) Change your mindset and self-image.
If you are stuck at a fat loss plateau and keep telling yourself you are meant to be fat, then guess what? You'll never win.
Instead, tell yourself you are meant to lose the fat. And believe it when you say it! Picture yourself with a better body. Picture
yourself buying clothes for your new, better body.
Here's a great example of a fat burning mindset shift mentioned by SteveH on the member's forum...
"Yesterday's eating went well. I even resisted a plate of fries and didn't order the burger I was wanting. I used the mindset that Craig mentioned - "I am a healthy person. Healthy people don't eat Burgers and Fries". So I got a turkey sandwich with steamed veggies."
Having a strong, positive thinking attitude will put you on the road to success.
2) Break a new record in the gym each workout.
Your body won't change if you aren't improving. My friend's dirty trick ensured that I was always doing more each workout, and therefore, always making gains.
So for your fat loss workout, pick one area you can improve on each workout. Whether it's one more pushup, a faster interval, or 5 more pounds on an exercise, break a record and you'll bust your plateau.
Train for performance, and the fat burning will follow.
Sincerely,

My Diet Secret
By: Craig Ballantyne, CSCS, MS
www.TurbulenceTraining.com
I'm not a "low-carb guy" by any means, but I have found something that works wonders for fat loss. And it does involve cutting back on whole-grains.
Back in December, I substituted more fruits and vegetables for any whole-grains in my diet, and I was as lean as I've been in years with this approach. So if you're trying to lose fat and look better than ever this summer, try this approach.
Here are some easy changes to make.
a) Instead of having toast for breakfast, have an apple.
b) Usually have a side of rice at lunch? Have 1 cup of broccoli.
c) Typically have a bowl of cereal at night? Have an orange and an ounce of pecans (or walnuts or almonds), instead.
Think I'm out to lunch?
Check this study ...
(For science nerds like me, here's the reference: Amer. J. Clin.
Nutr. 85: 1465-1477, 2007.)
Woman on a low-fat diet that ate more fruits and vegetables lost
more fat than another group of woman on only the low-fat diet.
After 1-year, the low-fat, fruits and vegetables group (LF-FV) lost more weight than another group of woman on the low-fat (LF) diet only.
Why?
The LF-FV group reported being less hungry, thanks to being able to eat more food than the LF group.
So you'll eat fewer calories if you are filling up on fruits and
vegetables, while keeping un-necessary fat out of the diet.
And isn't the summer a great time to implement this program? With watermelon, berries, apples, and cherries all in great abundance, you can satisfy your sweet tooth naturally, while burning fat with the Turbulence Training fat loss workouts at home.
Sincerely,

We all have bad habits. Mine are checking email too frequently,
being unorganized, and not always eating enough to fuel full
recovery from my workouts.
Your bad habits might include too much snacking and cheating on
your nutrition plan, coming up with excuses to skip exercise, or
watching too much TV.
Bad habits are the reason we need coaches. One of my coaches is Lee
Milteer, who gave me the exercises below, that I want you to go
through to help you break your bad habits.
If you've been trying to lose fat and get lean by yourself, but
with no luck, isn't it time to get professional help & social
support?
It's hard to change. I know it. I battle against my bad habits all
the time, just like you do everyday. But each day I also make an
effort to overcome the bad habits, just as you should have a plan
in place to overcome your bad weight loss habits.
Don't let insecurity, fear of failure, or the fear of the unknown
hold you back from making changes. Don't be a victim. "Give yourself
PERMISSION to change," Lee says.
So let's take action. Print this email out. Now write down 3 excuses
you are using to avoid making the changes you need to succeed.
1.______________________________________________________________
2.______________________________________________________________
3.______________________________________________________________
How have these excuses affected your life? What have the excuses
stopped you from achieving? Write down 3 very important things that
you have missed out on because you've allowed yourself to make
excuses.
1.______________________________________________________________
2.______________________________________________________________
3.______________________________________________________________
Now how do you feel when you fall victim to one of your self-
sabotaging excuses?
______________________________________________________________
______________________________________________________________
What benefits do you get from the excuse? Is it simply that you get
to remain in your comfort zone? That's a big one for me. If I can
convince myself that I need to check my email, then I get to remain
in my comfort zone and avoid the hard work and fear of failure that
comes with writing an article. Or is it the fear of the unknown
that is holding you back? Write down 3 ways you benefit from making
excuses.
1.______________________________________________________________
2.______________________________________________________________
3.______________________________________________________________
So now we both know why we've created our excuses - to avoid
something. All we need to do now is find a way to overcome these
bad habits. I want you to write down 3 behaviors you want to stop.
1.______________________________________________________________
2.______________________________________________________________
3.______________________________________________________________
Now write down why you end up doing it...were you bored, fearful,
lazy, etc.
1.______________________________________________________________
2.______________________________________________________________
3.______________________________________________________________
Now give yourself the permission to change. "Envision the rewards
you will get when you make the change to your life and habits," Lee
tells us. Give yourself a powerful list of reasons for fixing the
habit.
1.______________________________________________________________
2.______________________________________________________________
3.______________________________________________________________
Working on bad habits everyday will give you an incredible boost
in self-esteem and confidence. With each small successful
improvement you'll build confidence to take on the bigger, badder
habits that are holding you back.
Remember, everyday we are a work in progress. You might have bad
days, but as long as you make overall improvement each week and
month - that is all that matters.
Lee also recommends charting your progress. I have said many times
before that you need to keep records of your workouts and
nutrition. Only then will you know what works and how much
improvement you have made.
And finally, get social support. Don't expect to do this alone.
One research study from Stanford University concluded social
support was the #1 factor for success in an exercise program.

Here are 3 kick-butt bodyweight exercises you can do anytime, anywhere to burn fat, stay energized, and avoid overeating.
Bodyweight exercises help you burn fat shockingly fast, without any fancy equipment.
1) Any Single-Leg Exercise
The pistol (single-leg squat to the floor) is the most advanced
1-leg exercise. But you can also do assisted single-leg squats with a band, or onto a bench, or even with a Stability Ball between your back and the wall.
If you aren't ready for single-leg squats, you can use Bulgarian
Split Squats, Reverse Lunges, regular split squats, or lying 1-leg
hip bridges if you are a beginner.
2) Decline Push-ups
These are harder than normal pushups, thanks to your elevated feet. And in this position, you can still use a close-grip to fatigue
your triceps, a "piked-hip position" to build your shoulders, or
even the Spiderman leg motion to work on your abs.
3) Bodyweight Inverted Rows
I choose these over chinups and pullups because bodyweight rows let your chest rest, while your back is strengthened. It's the perfect compliment to a pushup.
Do 8-12 repetitions per exercise. Don't rest between exercises. Go through the circuit up to 3 times, resting 1 minute after each
circuit.
For a once-per-month challenge, do each exercise to failure in your final round through the circuit.

I have 3 BIG, and I mean BIG fat loss, body changing lessons to
share with you today...
First...
No one believes you can gain muscle and lose fat at the same time. I say, it's true. Not only do my Turbulence Training workouts prove it, but now science agrees.
Researchers from Purdue University showed men and women (with an average age of 61 - with one subject 80 years old!) were able to lose fat, gain muscle, get stronger, lower LDL cholesterol, and improve blood sugar control with a simple strength workout routine.
36 healthy men and women did strength training three times per week for 12 weeks, doing 3 sets of 8-12 repetitions.
By the end, the subjects gained an average of four pounds of lean mass and lost over four pounds of fat. This study show's it is possible to gain muscle and lose - at any age.
And you don't need fancy machines or an expensive gym membership, all you need is a professional program, like Turbulence Training, that you can do in the comfort of your own home.
Next...
I hear from men all the time who claim to be 6% body fat or less
(which is the level of a professional bodybuilder) but still have a
hard time seeing their abs.
This, by the way, is impossible. Listen, if you really are 6%,
you'll have an 8-pack, and you won't need any advice from me.
The problem is too many men and women believe that handheld body fat analyzers are accurate.
The truth?
Recent research shows these tools underestimate the amount of fat you are carrying on your body by 2.4 kg! That's 5 pounds of fat these handheld machines are neglecting to tell you about!
So don't get too smug with your handheld body fat readings, because it's likely underestimating the amount of fat on your body. Besides, its not about the machine, its about the mirror, how your clothes fit, and about losing the inches from your waist.
Worry about those, not some bogus readout on a machine.
And finally...
Everyone knows you don't burn fat with strength training, right? Wrong! A new study hot off the presses from the prestigous Journal of Applied Physiology showed strength training boosts metabolism by 10% after exercise and increases fat burning by 100%.
In this study, subjects did a standard 3-set strength training
program focusing on multi-muscle exercises and showed just how powerful "Turbulence" is for fat loss...
During strength training, you apply "turbulence" to your muscles, causing an increase in your metabolism and fat burning after the workout. That's how you build muscle and burn fat at the same time.
So forget about the "calorie readout" on the cardio machines. While strength training doesn't burn as many calories as traditional aerobic training during the workout itself, it continues to burn calories AND fat long after your workout.
And that's why you get a better body with Turbulence Training than you do with long, slow, boring, less-effective cardio.
Turbulence Training: Build muscle, burn fat, at the same time.

PPS - Cut your workout and enjoy more time OUT of the gym...
"I used to think you needed to spend hours in the gym everyday in order to see results. With the help of CB and TURBULENCE TRAINING, I have reduced my workouts from 2 hours per day, everyday, to 50 minutes every other day. All the while I have trimmed over 60 lbs. of body fat off my now lean and muscular body. Thanks CB!!!"

The 7-Day Weight Loss Detox
By: Craig Ballantyne, CSCS, MS
Turbulence Training for Fat Loss

Are you on a Detox diet? Everyone here in Toronto seems to be at one time or another...
Recently, one of my clients told me about his detox plans.
For 7 days of the year, he buys a detox kit and follows the
instructions to cut out all alcohol, caffeine, sugar, and refined
carbohydrates - all while taking some supplements to help
"detoxify" the liver and kidneys and extra fiber to help cleanse
the colon.
Now I don't mind this client doing this, because he is a model
client and follows a very healthy lifestyle all year round. At 40,
his blood measures are very healthy, he lost a few pounds of body fat last year, and despite being in a high-stress financial job, he is a picture of great health.
Is the detox going to significantly improve his health? No, not
really. And most of them aren't dangerous either, but a 7-day detox won't reverse 40 years or even 1 year of a poor lifestyle.
I'll admit, Detox diets might help kick-start your weight loss
program, but just realize that they are not a quick fix to your
health problems. The long-term fix is dumping the Western Lifestyle.
Besides, if you think you can actually remove all the toxins in
your body, you are being fooled. It can never happen. Every breath you take, every move you make, you are creating waste products in your body.
And many toxins are fat-soluble - meaning they are stored in our fat cells for months, and slowly released over time. So you'll
never truly detoxify...but enough of science class...
Just remember: 7 days of the cleanest living can't reverse 51 weeks of the Western Lifestyle - you have to make healthy living a full-time lifestyle. It is much better to spend all year avoiding as much crap as possible, than to try and sort it out in one week.
So let's take your new healthy lifestyle week-by-week with the
7-day fat loss plan.
Day 1
In today's Turbulence Training workout, choose an alternative form of interval cardio for this workout.
For example, if you are a beginner, and you have been doing only walking for cardio, try and use the elliptical machine or
stairmaster today. This is called cross-training and helps avoid
overuse injuries caused by doing the same thing over and over again when you aren't prepared for it. If you are advanced, try some of the bodyweight circuits in place of running or cycling intervals.
To do bodyweight circuits, pick 3 lower body and 3 upper body
exercises, and alternate between them. Do 10 reps of a lower body exercise, then 10 reps of an upper body exercise, and so on.
Go through the 6 exercise circuit 3 times for a 15 minute session.
Day 2
Between Turbulence Training workouts, take a day off from the gym.
On your off days, your exercise requirement is just 30 minutes of fun activity. It can be traditional cardio, sports, or bodyweight
exercise.
In addition, you need to clean out cupboards. Do NOT be afraid to throw out food - if it's garbage food, it's better in the trashbin
than in your fat cells.
After you have cleaned out your pantry, prepare a healthy shopping list. Complete a 7-day food entry and identify your trouble spots. Then organize your shopping list to provide solutions to your eating problems.
Day 3
Back to your regularly scheduled Turbulence Training workout.
Since we've been inspired by the 300 Movie Workout lately, I want you to make a small change to your workout today and reduce the rest intervals between sets. For today only, take no more than 30 seconds rest between exercises. Get your workout done in record time. Do a full warm-up before training though, of course!
Day 4
Another off-day from the gym (whether you train at a mega-gym or in the comfort of your own home gym).
Choose an activity and have at least 30 minutes of fun. Yoga is
great as well, to help reduce work-related stress.
In addition, let's make one more nutrition change. Today, I want
you to eat one new fruit and one new vegetable. If you aren't
already eating grapefruit, try one today and see how it helps fill
you up because it contains a lot of soluble fiber called pectin.
Add a new vegetable, such as steamed asparagus or broccoli to your dinner.
Day 5
Do your last Turbulence Training workout of the week today. I
always like to slip in an extra superset on the last workout of the
week. Pick your favorite biceps and triceps exercises and do them back to back for 3 supersets of 8 reps each.
Inject even more fun into your training & reward yourself for all
of your hard work.
Day 6
For most of you, this will be the weekend. That means you should have extra time to check in with your social support group.
So why not meet up with a friend that is also trying to lose fat
and/or build muscle and talk about what is working for you and
where you are struggling. Essentially, its your fat loss mastermind group!
As part of your meeting, choose a fun activity that you both want to do for at least 30 minutes. Make this activity-based meeting a regular habit on the weekend.
Day 7
Get an early start on the day with 30 minutes of a fun activity -
and yes, walking around shopping can count towards your 30 minutes of activity - and then prepare your meals for the rest of the week.
Plan, shop, & prepare for the week ahead. Make sure to include 1 new fruit and 1 new vegetable on your grocery list.
Getting this done early allows you to spend the rest of the day
outdoors, or going to church and socializing with friends after, or
spending the better part of the day with your family.
Remember that Turbulence Training is all about creating the optimal fat loss lifestyle - giving you more fat loss results in less
workout time while freeing up your life to spend doing the things you love with the people you love in the body that you love!
Have a great week!

By Rob Poulos, Fat Loss & Fitness Expert & Creator of 'Fat Burning Furnace'
I was puttering around on the internet this morning and I saw  something that really caught my eye.  It was the latest data regarding  our current life expectancy as humans from the World Health  Organization, along with a history of how that's changed over the years.

This info went all the way back to the Neanderthal period (the  guys from the Geico Insurance TV commercials) up to present day humans.
Those poor Geico guys only lived to be 20 years old on average,  while today's humans can expect about 75 years of life.

2,900 Or More Days Of Misery In Your Future?!

But did you know that today's people have an average  healthy life expectancy of just 67 years?  In other words, this  is saying that you can expect 8 years of your life in poor health.  8 years!  That's 2,900+ days of poor health.  I don't  know about you, but that's not something I'm looking forward to. I sure think we can do better than 67 years of good health on this planet.  And you know what?  We can.

This number is an  average.  Like anything else, you don't have to be average if  you don't want to be.  The average person doesn't exercise  properly, if at all.  The average person doesn't know how to  make the right foods selections and maintain a healthy diet.  The average person doesn't apply themselves mentally and  emotionally to maintain relatively stress free living.

If this sounds a little bit too much like you, the good news is  you don't have to be this person any longer.  While it is a  shame that today's health, fitness, and diet industry is simply  confusing more people than it's helping, there are a few people  and organizations out there that can provide a realistic, effective and efficient approach to breaking past the average  healthy life span and living those years full of energy,  strength, and vitality.

I get questions from my Fat Burning Furnace newsletter and system readers all the  time, after going through the FBF materials, about how they  can't believe how little exercise is involved.  And even though  I've told them up front that they can let go of the aerobics or traditional cardio because of how powerful the FBF exercise really is, many still have trouble doing that.

And what I tell them is directly related to the subject of life  expectancy and just how much time we really have in our lives. I tell them that having a lean, strong, and healthy body is great.  It's one of the most important things we can attain.  Period.  But, how much time is it worth to you?  That's the  question I asked myself over and over when seeking out my own  methods and developing the FBF methods.

Most people, after years and years of trial and error, come to  realize that spending several days and hours a week working out  is just not worth the trouble.  And carefully measuring your  food, counting calories, and depriving yourself of nutrient rich  foods like whole grain carbohydrates is also something that  shouldn't be necessary to enjoy a healthy and energy filled  life.  And it isn't.

How Much Time & Effort Is Minimally Required?
What we really should be focusing on is how much time and effort  is minimally required to get the results we're looking for.  Think about that.  Not how much, but how much is minimally required.  Remember, we've got just 67 healthy years as a starting point...If I valued my time on this planet, this is what I would be searching for.

If it really took hours and hours a week and all of that crazy  nutrition manipulation to burn fat, build muscle, strength, and cardiovascular health, I'm not sure I'd do it.  Not for very  long anyway.  I've tried that approach, for years, and if you  have you know it's no fun.  And it's just not realistic given  the demands our lives place on us in today's world.

But as I've mentioned before, you don't have to worry about that  kind of stuff anymore.  The principles in my FBF system allow  you to approach your genetic potential for a lean, strong, and healthy body in just minutes each week and with very simple  lifestyle changes.

Just 45 Minutes A Week...While Eating Delicious Foods?
My wife Kalen and I have been using the FBF principles for a few years now.  We work out  twice each week.  We even take a week off entirely every few  weeks or so.  We don't count calories.  We don't deprive ourselves of  the foods we love.  If it's our daughter's birthday, we enjoy some cake and ice cream .  We just work the FBF principles and continue to stay in  great shape day after day, week after week, year after year.

We work out so little because of the way the workouts are performed and created, and we eat with such flexibility because we stick with the FBF lifestyle, which gives you the power of  flexibility and variation that is lacking in most programs.

What I'm saying is that I've discovered what is minimally required to give me the health and body that I wanted.  And thousands  of my FBF students are doing it as well.  Sure I could add another day a week to my workouts, but at this point it would  actually be detrimental to my results.  I could also start  messing with my diet in all sorts of crazy ways, but that would just make my body angry and cause me unneeded stress.

So, I ask you, are you trying to find what's minimally required to get you the results you want?  If you truly value your time and the other worthy pursuits in your life, I'm suggesting that this is exactly what you should be doing.  If you don't, you may just end up being an average 67 year old with 8 years of poor health to look forward to.

By the way, if you haven't read my Fat Burning Furnace blueprint yet, you really want to go and do that right now. It took me years to learn all of the techniques and secrets my wife and I used to drop over 100 pounds of fat (see our pictures after you click the button below), totally reshape our bodies, boost our energy, and develop lasting health...but you can copy my plan just a few minutes from now with my Fat Burning Furnace system.

How To Triple Your Fat Burning Workout Results

By Rob Poulos, Fat Loss & Fitness Expert & Creator of 'Fat Burning Furnace'
Do you want to know how to triple your results from your resistance training? Why
wouldn't you?
Properly conducted resistance training can give you startling fat loss results, along with muscle and strength gains.  On top of that, when using the techniques I describe in the Fat Burning Furnace eBook, you'll also receive "top drawer" cardiovascular health benefits.  And all from 2-3  workouts each week lasting just 15-20 minutes on average.
But, you've got to do them right, not like the average resistance trainer is taught these days.  Walk into any fitness center or gym and you'll see at least half if not more of the exercisers performing their workouts in a less than optimal way...and that's being kind.
So let's get right to one of the ways you can triple your resistance training results immediately.  It has to do with how you specifically perform the repetitions.  To better understand this, let's examine our 3 different strength levels in any resistance exercise.
Take the dumbbell curl exercise for the biceps for example.  In this movement, you begin with the weight down at your sides. You proceed to smoothly and slowly curl the dumbbells up to your shoulders.  This movement trains your positive strength level. You should then pause briefly and contract your biceps at the top of the movement.  This trains your static strength level.
Finally, you would want to lower the dumbbells slowly back to the starting position.  This trains your negative strength level.
Now the problem is that most people don't even bother with the static or negative strength levels.  They put all of the focus on the "lifting" or positive portion of the movement, while not pausing or contracting sufficiently at the top, and not taking nearly enough time on the negative portion.
In effect they are getting only one third of the benefits that this exercise can give them.  Actually, it's less than that because the static and negative portions can actually create deeper inroads into your existing strength levels.  This is something you want, as it will lead to greater progress faster assuming you give your body appropriate time to recover.
Why do we care so much about strength?  Outside of the obvious reasons, strength leads to muscle growth, which leads to a faster resting metabolism, which leads to faster fat loss and various other improved health factors that could take up another couple of pages at least ;-).
In the Fat Burning Furnace eBook & Deluxe Program, I take these concepts to the next level.  Here we are using techniques to maximize your static and negative strength levels in order to push the limits of your lean and healthy genetic potential to the max.  That's when the real fun begins.
So make sure not to neglect the static and negative strength levels when performing your next resistance training workout. Don't waste the opportunity to triple your results!

A Simple Change In Mindset Will Burn More Fat Fast

By Rob Poulos, Fat Loss & Fitness Expert & Creator of 'Fat Burning Furnace'
Most people that I talk to about health and fitness talk about “getting in shape”.   But I don’t think they realize that their words are actually counterproductive to their aspirations of burning fat.  You hear a lot of people lamenting about being out of shape and saying, “I need to get in shape and burn fat”, or, “I want to get in shape and burn fat.”  What you don’t hear them saying is, “I want to get in shape, burn fat, and stay that way.”
They may want to stay in shape, but their mindset is focused on getting in shape.  This makes you more susceptible to the fad diets and latest exercise gimmick on the market.  You’re so focused on getting in shape that you’ll try almost anything regardless of how silly or difficult to follow it might seem, because you’re entirely focused on the short term goal.
A simple change in the “quick fix” mindset to one of long term success will steer you down the correct path.  You’ll be less enticed by the late night TV hype, and more focused on doing the right things most of the time.  Wouldn’t you agree that life long health and fitness is what’s most important?
Of course creating an environment in your body that allows you to burn fat fast is essential to this goal.  A person who is in shape in their 50s and 60s is a lot more impressive to me than someone who is lean and fit in their 20s and 30s. That’s because the dedication to maintaining the proper exercise plan and a sensible nutrition strategy for the rest of your life is rare to find.  It’s a rare mindset.
If you really want to transform your physique and your health for good, you must make it a lifestyle, a habit.  And that starts in your mind.  That’s what the people who are lean for life do.  In fact, if I think about all of the people I personally know that are in great shape and have been for a while, I start to understand that they have their minds on staying in shape.
They think about it day and night, not obsessively, but with each thing they do…they subconsciously think, “Is this going to positively or negatively impact my long term health and fitness?”. "Am I doing everything I reasonable can to burn fat and live a healthy lifestyle?".
The good news is that research shows you can develop simple habits like those involved in eating and exercising properly in under a month…sometimes even sooner.  And with the type of exercise and diet tips I recommend to my Fat Burning Furnace students, you don’t need o give up your life’s pursuits so that you are working out every day,  nor do you need to follow a wacky diet you can’t reasonably make a lifestyle out of.
And after a few months of practicing these methods, I’ve found that your body will start telling you it wants to keep exercising and eating right…you just won’t feel right with out it.  Why?  Because your body naturally wants to be healthy and lean.
So I urge you to forgo the “get in shape” mindset, and instead embrace the idea of staying in shape and creating that fat burning furnace that is so essential to life long health and fitness.
Imagine yourself in the body of your dreams, today, tomorrow, and 5, 10, 20 or more years from now.  What will you be doing then, in your lean, strong, and healthy body?  Chances are, you won’t be trying to “get in shape”.  Instead, you'll be burning fat 24/7, and enjoying life as you should...full of vitality and passion.

How To Properly Judge Your Fat Loss Progress

By Rob Poulos, Fat Loss & Fitness Expert & Creator of 'Fat Burning Furnace'
If you don’t know how to properly judge your fat loss or fat burning progress from a particular exercise or nutrition regimen, you’re probably not going to be very successful.  It’s just like in sports…you have to know the score if you want to know who wins the game.  So in our fat loss and fitness efforts, we have to know our body’s score if we want to know if we’re winning, or in this case, losing.
I’ve found that a big mistake a lot of people make in judging their fat loss progress in the pursuit of a fit body is to be a slave to the scale.  The scale is a useful tool, no doubt, but I’ve seen far too many people stop doing the right things (like proper weight training) just because they gained a pound on the scale.
But you can’t blame yourself if you’ve been in this mode before…for years most of us were taught to watch the scale carefully when measuring if we did or did not burn fat.  But your body can fluctuate a few pounds up or down at different times of the day, every day.  This doesn’t mean you’ve burned or gained fat, so following the scale can play games with your mind.
Another big problem with using the scale as your sole judge of progress has become clear with many people adding lean muscle to their bodies recently.
Muscle weighs more than fat, so let’s say you been following a properly conducted resistance training routine for the past few months. You’ve gotten stronger and you’ve also added muscle to your body.  If you’re adding pounds of lean muscle to your body, you might see an up-tick in what the scale says.  But assuming you’re not gaining fat weight, it’s a good thing.  It’s not about weight loss, it’s about fat loss.
More muscle means more calories devoted to building that muscle and keeping it alive.  It also means your metabolism will get faster and become more efficient at burning fat.  You’ll see that number on the scale drop soon enough, as the new muscle has created a calorie deficit in your daily food intake.
What we really should be looking at here is body fat percentage, or how much your total weight is made up of body fat.  Most men will be more than happy with their bodies when they get into the 12-15% range, and most women will be satisfied with a fat percentage of around 16-20.  So go out and get a skin caliper, which is fairly inexpensive, or another measurement device so you can keep track of your relative body fat percentage. If it’s going down, keep doing what you’re doing, and don’t even look at that scale!
Another tool I recommend using when judging your fat loss progress is the tried and true mirror in your bathroom.  Now, this may sound simple, but use the mirror to judge your fat loss and muscle gain.
Combined with liberal use of your scale and keeping tabs on your body fat percentage, your mirror will provide all you’ll need to judge your progress.  The great thing about the mirror is that you’ll get great motivation from seeing your body change right before your eyes, and it will spur you on to even further progress!
The other important aspect of judging your fat loss progress is creating realistic expectations of your new body.  As I teach my Fat Burning Furnace students, our friends in the fitness industry often use the genetically superior to advertise their products and programs, and this can easily deceive you subconsciously into thinking all you have to do is follow their advice to look like the cover boy or girl.
Well, I’m here to tell you that even if you have the most efficient plan or program, you still may never look like your favorite physique superstar or model.
Research tells us that we are a product of our genetic inheritance.  We all have our own inherited physical characteristics.  For instance, some of us carry more fat in our bellies than others.  Some of us have more muscle fibers in our legs and arms.  Some of us carry more fat cells in our hips and thighs.  Some of us are short, some are tall, some have dark hair, some have blue eyes, etc.
Some of us lose fat and gain muscle easily, some don’t.  While this may come as no surprise, it is important to remember so we don’t sabotage our efforts in the gym or at the dinner table trying to burn fat.  What I mean by that is, just because you don’t lose fat in your belly at the same rate as your best friend doesn’t mean you’re doing the wrong things to lose it.
You can only compare yourself to you.  Lying in you right now is your very own best body - your own strong, lean, and healthy physique.  Everyone’s is different.  Yours might be highlighted by broad shoulders and powerful arms.  Or maybe it’s your slender and muscular waist that frames your body.
So don’t feel chained by your genetic makeup, feel liberated, knowing that you have the power to reshape and transform what you were given.
With the combination of the right knowledge and developed habits, you can burn fat fast and make such improvements in your body that you’ll impress almost everyone you know. I’ve seen it happen with my friends, family, and students…I’m talking about people seeing them and saying wow!
And more importantly, you’ll feel great knowing you’ve done all you can to live the rest of your life with the body you’re truly capable of...and that is just an awesome  and empowering feeling.

Rest, Sleep, And Burn More Fat Fast

By Rob Poulos, Fat Loss & Fitness Expert & Creator of 'Fat Burning Furnace'
In order to reap the benefits from the intense exercise I recommend to my Fat Burning Furnace students, you must get adequate rest.  I can’t stress this fact enough.  In fact, rest is just as important, if not more important that the actual exercise.
During the high intensity resistance exercise that my students perform, the muscles experience tiny injuries or tears.  The body’s response is to adapt and repair, getting stronger and larger muscles, which of course leads to burning more fat and a leaner body.
But this growth and repair process won’t take place if the body is not allowed the time to do its job.  Too often, people rush back into the gym, as many have been inundated with the “more is better” axiom when it comes to exercise.  But if we don’t get out of the body’s way and let it do its magic, we will experience poor results.  We won't burn fat like we want to, and we will just end up demotivated or possibly give up our efforts altogether.
If you don’t get enough rest or sleep, you’ll have a very difficult time building the fat-burning muscle that will transform your body.  And you’ll also have a tough time burning fat off too!  That’s why we can’t work out too long or too often when using a sufficient intensity level.  When giving the body an intense stimulus, such as proper weight training, you can’t keep hammering it into the ground.
If you did this, you’d quickly over train your muscles and negate your body’s ability to recover from exercise.   Your immune system could become so worn down in fact, that you might even get sick…this happened to me a few times in the past when I wasn’t paying attention to getting adequate rest and sleep.
And this repair and recover process doesn’t happen overnight, it usually takes 2 days or more, So make sure to keep between 1-3 days of rest between your properly conducted resistance training workouts, or you will be short-circuiting your chances of success to burn fat and build lean, strong, muscle.
Now that we know how important rest is to burning fat and building muscle, we also must understand the most important component of rest…otherwise know as sleep.  Sleep is the ultimate recovery tool, and not only for recovery from exercise.  It’s a recovery tool from any stress you take in throughout the day.
Whether it’s from family pressures, work issues, or finances, etc., increased stress can be dissolved by adequate sleep.  And don’t think you can burn fat maximally when you’re over-stressed by other things in your life.  A high stress level can shut down the effectiveness of your ability to burn fat, among other things.
So make sure to get adequate sleep.  What’s ideal?  I would recommend no less than seven or more than nine hours.  In fact, seven and half hours per night might be the perfect amount!
Research has shown that we sleep in cycles of 90 minutes or so.  It has been suggested that if we wake up too far before or after one of these 90 minute cycles, you will probably feel groggy for a good part of the day. So try the 5 90 minutes sleep cycles, or 7 and a half hours…you’ll most likely wake up feeling well-rested and energized, and your fat burning furnace will show it’s appreciation, allowing you to burn more fat faster

Two Magical Substances That Allow You To Burn Fat Faster & Create Lasting Health

By Rob Poulos, Fat Loss & Fitness Expert & Creator of 'Fat Burning Furnace'
In all of my experimentation and research on the subject of nutrition for fast fat burning, health and fitness over the last 10+ years, I’ve discovered 2 magical substances that can have a dramatic effect on whether or not you burn body fat and keep it off, or hang on to it like a security blanket.
These substances, in fact, have been around since the beginning of time and I’m surprised more people don’t value their importance like they should.  What are these magical agents of fat burning wizardry? Water and Fiber.  Let me explain why…
Everyone has heard that water is important for health, but even still, most people don’t drink enough water.  Water is also vital to your fat burning efforts and maintaining a lean body.   After all, our bodies are about 65-70% water.  Water also keeps you from snacking on unhealthy sugary foods and sugar laden soft drinks, as many times when we feel we are hungry, we are actually just dehydrated.
We need water in our bodies more than we need food.  The body can survive for much longer without food that without water.  Water is like the oil in the engines of our cars. It is involved in almost every process the body goes through, from digestion to nutrient absorption.  It also keeps your energy level up as it prevents dehydration.
Now, this is very important…dehydration will totally kill your chances of burning fat, because the body interprets this as a state of shock. It shifts its focus on getting water and stops doing other things, like burning body fat for energy.  And here’s even more helpful info about the power of water.  Try this little trick to burn even more calories…try and drink most if not all of your water in ice cold form.
First of all, it typically tastes better ice cold, and every time you drink an ounce of ice cold water, your body must burn about a calorie in the process of warming the water to your current body temperature. Now, you can use this to your advantage to burn even more calories each day.  Keep your water intake to 100 ounces per day,  and you’ll burn an extra 100 calories and burn more fat!  How cool is that!
Also, add some lemon to your water…this will have positive effects in helping cleanse your liver.  And this brings up another key to fat loss…the body needs to be working efficiently if you want to burn fat fast…if your organs, especially the kidneys and liver,  are working together in high efficiency, you will find it easier to burn fat!
So keeping yourself hydrated will keep your kidneys operating at a good clip, and your liver will be allowed to do its job of metabolizing stored fat for energy.
The other magical substance is Fiber.  Fiber slows digestion and makes you feel fuller.  This is so important in burning fat and reducing cravings, especially for foods loaded with sugar, and how many calories you end up eating throughout the day, which leads to fat loss.
Great sources of fiber include various whole grain products, fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds, and beans.  These, by the way, are foods that are also rich in other nutrients your body craves naturally…surprise surprise!  Processed foods, however, are poor sources of fiber.  White flour products including regular pasta is in this category.   Also, watch out for high fiber cereals as many of these are also high in sugar.
On top of the fat burning benefits, fiber has been linked to the prevention of various conditions including heart disease, diabetes and cancer.  That's a one-two health punch to be reckoned with!
So I urge you to put water and fiber at the top of your list of things to put in your body.  If you combine that focus with a diet of nutrient rich foods and a properly conducted resistance exercise program, you’ll be on your way to burning more fat faster, and maximizing your genetic potential for a lean, strong, and healthy body.
My Fat Burning Furnace students are already doing this, and are enjoying all the rewards this lifestyle brings.  Now, it’s your turn to get the most you can out of life and burn fat faster than you might have thought possible.
